Distractions

I enjoy all the technological advances as much as the next person. We have TV, movies, music, and video games. Social media has increased quite a bit since I joined Facebook in 2005. Before Facebook, I enjoyed Myspace when you could change your background and music every day if you chose. The great thing about technology is the connections that I make and the number of books and research that is limited to my small town.

Given all of those great advances, there are days when I get so invested in watching Youtube videos for hours. I binge watch a TV show, which is rare for me unless I’m sick. There are a ton of distracting things. So, there are times when I disconnect my internet and go off the grid, even for a few hours.

I try to get my homework or my writing done and I get nowhere. Let’s not forget about life in general and it’s distractions outside of technology. I am a wife and a mother of two. There are plenty of things in those two roles that can deter my process.

So, I’m putting this out there and asking you what your distractions are. What takes you from being productive to procrastinator? What do you get lost in?
