Unspoken

An unwanted woman with a generous heart

Too chicken to stand up to the truth she owns

Secrets come easy to hide inside herself

Most think she must be stupid to know so little

Inside she screams the sounds of agony and torture

Outside she smiles and sits quietly in a corner

Isolated from friends and family she was pushed

Never realizing how easily she was slid into his clutches

Broken are the connections of money and credit

All that’s left is debt building and never forgotten

Shouts and screams she endures in silence

Wishing someone would see what lies beneath

Child laughter fills her heart to mend what can

Depression isn’t something she admits easily

Throwing herself in work and words is best

Sometimes the best answer is silence

Unspoken words left unsaid to avoid heartache

Maybe one day she will have the courage
