Poetry Collection: People to Thank

I wanted to take this time to thank a few people for keeping me inspired, uplifted, and giving me tons of support while writing this collection. I won’t be giving a full list of names because you’ll see the acknowledgements page in my book. 😉

For now, here are a few that I felt needed mentioning.

There are so many that I can thank but there are 2 people who have supported me the most and that has to be my mom, Barbie and my dad, Pat. They have been a huge support to me my entire life but especially in the last few years through the illnesses, surgeries, personal issues, and more. Thanks to them, I was able to express emotions and find inspiration to write these poems.

Then the rest of my family, whether they know it or not, have been a huge inspiration to me. There are tons of them who have worked hard, struggled through illness, shown their strength and loyalty, and shown what kind and generous people they are at heart. I would give a list of names but there are way too many and I don’t want to leave anyone out. 🙂 To my family, I love you and thank you.

To the Creative Misfits, my writing group for their undying love and support. (Check my book acknowledgments page) I can’t say thank you enough.

To my doctors, nurses, techs, hospital personnel, and drivers, I wouldn’t be here without you. It has been a hard 5 years, but I know that you were there to help me and to keep me strong.

I hate to add him last, but he is the most important, to God. I prayed hard and I kept my faith in him even in times of doubt. I knew that there was a plan for me and no matter what I did, he had a plan for me. I may have been angry, sad, and confused to what that journey was, but I kept my faith in him and continue to let him lead me where I’m meant to go.

To my NMSU instructors, Head Start staff, and especially Sylvia, Emma, Linda, Bobbie, Julie, and Christina, you supported me during a difficult time and I appreciate you more than I could ever say. The lessons I learned with you will stay with me for a lifetime.

As I am finishing the last few things I need to finish on this collection, I’m so incredibly proud of this body of work and look forward to sharing it with you.

Thank you for all your support.
